MEMBERSHIP CATEGORY SELECTION

  • Ordinary Categories (physical) – suitable for organisations that trade and/or store and/or handle grain. Based on tonnage for 2007/2008 year.
  • Ordinary Categories (financial) – suitable for organisations that offer finance via operations/inventory financing or similar to a customer; or offer price risk management products containing derivative products such as swaps or futures contracts and insurance products.
  • Broker Categories – any brokerage organisation that has more than one employee is classed as a large broker.
  • Corporate Categories – this category is for organisations that do not take a principal position in grain marketing or offer financial products designed for use within the industry, however they do have a vested commercial interest in the efficiency of the commercial processes across the grain supply chain.  A large corporate is defined as an organisation with more than 40 employees.
  • Merchant Associations – only applicable organisations - QAM Inc., RMSA, GIAV, NACMA SA & NACMA WA.
  • Industry Association – are organisations that represent participants in the grain supply chain as an industry association.


NOTE: All Membership Applications will be submitted to a Board Sub Committee for category verification prior to Board approval.

MEMBERSHIP PROCESS for CURRENT MEMBERS

  1. Check your membership details as printed on the attached Membership Form and correct where necessary.
  2. Check Membership Category.  The Membership Category for the current year is determined by the tonnage traded and/or stored and /or handled in the 2007/2008 year.
  3. If the Category is appropriate, please remit your membership fees.
  4. If the Category is not appropriate, please mark the appropriate category and remit your membership fees.
  5. Return Membership Application with payment (details below) to NACMA.

Membership process for an organisation seeking membership for the first time

  • Complete a NACMA Membership Application Form
  • Obtain two letters of support from current NACMA members, excluding Associate Members.  The letters must:
    • attest to the applicant organisations past adherence to the principles contained in the NACMA Code of Conduct; and
    • detail the length of time that commercial activity has been transacted between the applicant organisation and the organisation supplying the letter of support.
  • Forward the Application Form and letters of support with payment (cheque only, no EFT) to NACMA for Board consideration and approval.
