Involvement in the global grains industry
Trade Rules
NACMA, through its Committee system, develop and subsequently publish Trade Rules for grain contracts. These rules reflect trade practice and facilitate trade between members and overcome trade disputes by setting the ground rules before trading is initiated.
Standards and Codes of Practice
In conjunction with various industry organisations, NACMA develop and publish grain standards to ensure objectivity in grain specification. The standards are updated yearly and are accepted as the industry’s standard reference.
NACMA has also released Codes of Practice relating to the storage and transport of basic commodities and basic value added products. These Codes are published in conjunction with Australian Oilseeds Federation.
Arbitration Process
NACMA conducts an arbitration system for members to alleviate the costly and time consuming process of legal action arising from trade disagreements.

- UK Agricultural Supply Trade Association (UKASTA)
- Grain Elevators and Processing Society (GEAPS)
Conference
NACMA, in conjunction with Australian Oilseeds Federation and Pulse Australia conducts the pre-eminent grain industry conference each year – Agriculture Australia. This conference brings together members from all sections of the grain value chain from all regions of Australia as well as overseas. This forum allows divergent views to be expressed and debated.
