The Committee structure within NACMA:

• allows members to raise issues that impact on their commercial operations; leading to
• industry consensus on trade rules and grain standards in particular.

Committees

• The Chairman of the Committee is a Board member who selects appropriately qualified industry personnel subject to Board endorsement
• Any member can nominate themselves or someone else for consideration
• Any member can present issues to the committees
• The Committees report to the members annually at the Common Interest Forum
• All NACMA Committee members are bound by a Commitee Confidentiality Agreement

Corporate Governance Committee

The Corporate Governance Committee shall make recommendations to the NACMA Board on issues relating to:

• Statutory obligations of members relating to grain trading activities
• Conduct advocacy role for grain industry to statutory organisations
• NACMA registration, accreditation and licensing programs relating to (a) and (b) above
• NACMA education and training issues, specifically those supporting accreditation and registration programs
• Other relevant matters of concern to NACMA members and within the area of expertise

Commerce Committee

Responsible for:

• Review of and recommendations for changes or additions to NACMA contracts (includes compiling freight differentials and other supporting documents)
• Review of and recommendations for changes or additions to NACMA Trading Rules
• Review and management of the NACMA arbitration process

Transport, Storage & Handling Committee

The Transport, Storage & Handling Committee is a Sub Committee of the Commerce Committee and is responsible for making recommendations on:

• Location differentials
• Conduct of registration schemes for approved bulk handlers
• Other relevant matters of concern to NACMA members and within the area of expertise of the Transport, Storage & Handling Committee.

Standards Committee

Responsible for:

• Review of and recommendations for updates of commodity standards in cooperation with Pulse Australia, Australian Oilseeds Federation, AWB Limited and other industry participants
• Review of issues relating to quality assurance and recommendations on action for NACMA
• Development of protocols for accreditation of laboratories involved in testing to support NACMA contracts
• Development of industry Codes of Practice
